AGCO Consulting on New Electronic Raffle Program

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is currently developing a new regulatory framework for charitable or religious organizations that want to obtain licences to conduct electronic raffles (including 50/50 draws). The goal of this new framework is to ensure that electronic raffles help charities with the following:

  • Ensure that electronic raffles are conducted and managed in accordance with the principles of honesty, integrity and the broader public interest
  • Enable and embrace the use of modern technology
  • Increase fundraising opportunities for eligible projects
  • Streamline and enhance the administration of charitable raffles.

The consultations are being guided by a consultation paper, which outlines the parameters of the AGCO’s review.

Interest individuals and stakeholders have until November 14th to submit feedback.
