Prime Minister Commits to Give Municipalities Control Over Infrastructure Spending

Some municipal officials are advocating for a transfer system that is similar to the federal gas tax. However, a report released last week by the Auditor General’s Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development was critical of the government’s monitoring of gas tax disbursements.
