Government Seeking Feedback on HOT Pilot Project

The government is looking for feedback on its proposed High-Occupancy Toll (HOT) lane pilot project. According to the consultation document, the pilot project would create a HOT lane on the QEW between Trafalgar Road in Oakville and Guelph Line in Burlington during the summer of 2016.

HOT Lanes

This pilot would be the first step in the government’s plan to implement HOT lanes across the region. Vehicles with two or more passengers will still be able to use new HOT lanes without paying an additional fee, while other motorists would able to purchase permits that will authorize them to travel in the HOT lanes, regardless of the number of passengers.

Comments must be provided to the Ministry of Transportation by February 5, 2016.
