Liberals Look to Avoid Third Term with Marin

After an all-party panel could not reach consensus on the appointment of a new Ombudsman; it now appears that the Liberals are proposing to replace Marin with Deputy Ombudsman Barbara Finlay for a temporary term.  This was made clear in a letter from Government House Leader Yasir Naqvi to the opposition parties and opens the door for the recruiting a permanent replacement.  There is strong opposition from the NDP and there has been no comment yet from the Conservatives.  While none of this is conclusive, this could signal that Marin may not be receiving his third term in Office.
